The Department of Social Science continues to play a vital role in shaping the minds and character of our students. In 2025, our department remained committed to nurturing young citizens who are informed, responsible, and equipped with critical thinking skills to actively participate in society. Through our curriculum, activities, and community engagement, we aim to create future leaders who value respect, diversity, and social responsibility.

The Social Science Department is entrusted with developing students’ understanding of people, places, cultures, history, and governance, encouraging critical and creative thinking through classroom discussions, research, and inquiry-based learning. It also focuses on instilling civic values, national identity, and global awareness in students, equipping learners with knowledge and skills to make informed decisions and contribute positively to society and supporting students in understanding current social, economic, and environmental issues.

The department is built on a strong foundation of collaboration, dedication, and innovation among colleagues where everyone identifies themselves as a team of passionate and qualified teachers committed to excellence in teaching and learning for the purpose of integration of real-life issues and practical activities to make learning meaningful and relevant. The department members create a student-centered approach that encourages participation, leadership, and responsibility, Strong emphasis on moral values, discipline, and character building and the promotion of environmental awareness, sustainability, and community service.

The year 2025 has been one of growth and success for the Social Science Department. We managed successful implementation of innovative teaching strategies that enhanced classroom engagement with active participation in national and regional social science competitions and activities. The department fosters the organization of awareness programs and campaigns on sustainability, cultural heritage, and civic responsibilities with excellent student performances in internal and external assessments, with many achieving high academic standards. Definitely an immense contribution to the school’s sustainability initiatives, strengthening our commitment to social responsibility and civic pride has been accomplished. The highlight of achievements this year was a third place finish in the GIS Video competition organized by the Ministry of Lands and Mineral resources. The participating students have been duly acknowledged for their efforts.
