Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh and Bula to all readers of Shama-E-Ilm, 2023. It is not big news that we live in a digital world. Whether at home or in classroom, most students are connected to some form of technology. Learning how technology works and how you can harness it is as important as reading and writing.

 

Kamil Muslim College department of Computing and Office Technology comprises of 3 department teachers namely, Mrs. Matalomani, Mr. Kumar and Mr. Begg. With the advancement of technology and standard of living all means and ways are being looked at to make Kamil College a techno-savvy place to learn. The school has 6 x 75” Smart Panel for teaching and learning at senior levels, Library, Home Economics and the plan is to extend it to all year 12’s by the end of the year. This new piece of technology is a driving tool for quality education at the campus. Regular maintenance and update are monitored by the department teachers.

 

Moreover, the provision of competency based education is the driving force behind the Computing and Office Technology subject as students are given many practical tasks and features of the application system which are then introduced gradually to help students to tackle the task. The department celebrated International Girls in ICT Day 2023 and World Radio Day 2023 to commemorate the importance of technology in our lives.  

 

The department is fully equipped with 2 computer labs of 40 latest desktop units. Students and teachers are provided with Internet access via wired and wireless medium. There is an increase in the number of students opting for Computing subject as the demand for the subject grows. Regular maintenance and backup is managed by the department teachers in collaboration of the college admin team.

 

Finally, the department is striving for excellence in the academic results and would like to thank the college Admin team for providing guidance and professional advice throughout the year and wishes all the very best for the upcoming external exams.
