Agriculture Science subject plays an integral part of any education. It develops a child holistically. It offers a variety of opportunities and provides a pathway to effectively run one’s own business for a better living. It provides students with opportunities to learn about agriculture in a fun and effective way, and seeks to instil appreciation for local agriculture and food production.
The students are taught to cultivate food crops and keep livestock’s, as it is one of the basic needs for survival. Both theoretical and practical aspects of the subject are taught and students learn to use modern technology of growing crops and livestock to increase production. The subject prepares the students to take farming as a business or to continue their further studies in the discipline if they wish.
The school also has a modern shade house to grow vegetable crops, broiler shed, layer shed, fish pond and beehives to demonstrate to students the art of growing crops, flowers and raising livestock.
This year the students will continue with their internal assessment projects in school with support provided by the teachers and parents. Year 12 and Year 13 internal assessment marks will be sent for district and national moderation.
This year the department consists of three teachers; Mr Riaz Mohammed Shafil (Teacher In charge) , Mr Errol Nair and Mrs Siowana Taqabale. The teachers are very hardworking and they have produced excellent results in internal examination in 2023. This year teachers have targeted to get better results again.
