“To have another language is to possess a second soul.” – Charlemagne

English, as a second language, plays a vital role in uniting diverse cultures and languages, acting as both a common ground and a bridge of understanding. It empowers communication across boundaries, enhancing both personal and academic growth.

With deep gratitude, I thank the Almighty for His constant guidance, and acknowledge the ongoing support of our school administration. Their encouragement, coupled with the unwavering commitment of our Language Department staff, has enabled us to meet key academic and developmental goals with success and consistency.

This year, the department has achieved several meaningful milestones, driven by the collaboration, passion, and professionalism of our team. Our students proudly participated in a number of high-profile initiatives including:

  • The New Zealand High Commission Essay Competition
  • USP Essay Competition
  • Westpac Women’s Essay Competition
  • Library & Literacy Week Celebrations
  • World Book Day
  • Fiji Day Events
  • IDADAIT Program

These engagements not only enriched our students’ learning experiences but also reflected the vibrant spirit of the department.

To our students, parents, and wider school community—thank you for your invaluable contributions and continued support. Your involvement has been central to the Language Department’s achievements and growth.

As we look ahead, I wish each of you success, inspiration, and confidence in every step of your journey.
Vinaka vakalevu, and thank you once again.
