To provide the best financial and holistic education to the students towards reaching excellence.
To provide the students with an understanding of the financial, social, economic, intellectual and business environment aspects and their interaction so that they can understand, adopt and excel in the realistic world.
The Commerce Department consists of six qualified teachers who are dedicated to employing diverse teaching and learning methods to cater to the unique needs of our commerce students. The department facilitates learning for commercial studies at years 9 & 10 and Accounting and Economics at years 11, 12, & 13. Additionally, KAB (Know about Business) is also taught at Vocational 1 Level so that these students can upgrade their skills in financial literacy about businesses.
Key Event and Achievement
- The Department marked the MSMEs (Micro Small Medium Size Enterprise) Day on Tuesday 17th June, Term 2, 2025. The event focused on the crucial role of MSMEs in fostering economic growth and creating job opportunities. Students participated in market day, including buying and selling, to understand the significance of MSMEs in our economy.
- In term 1, students took part in an Art Competition organized by the Consumer Council of Fiji. Zoya Nisha of year 13A won the first prize of $250 cash and $100 voucher.
Despite facing various challenges, our department has remained steadfast in our commitment to improving student outcomes. The teamwork and unity among our staff have been instrumental in our progress. We have implemented strategic initiatives to enhance teaching practices and student engagement, with a focus on improving exam results at the end of this year.
Finally, I would like to express my hearty gratitude to our principal, Mrs. Shabinah Ali, and her administrative team for their unwavering support and guidance. My sincere thanks also go to the dedicated members of our department for their hard work and commitment. Additionally, I extend my special thanks to all the students and parents for their active participation and support in the activities organized by the Commerce Department.
